Bookending the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G unboxing from earlier today is the other classic staple of geekdom: the tear-down. As usual iFixit did the deed, and here’s what they uncovered:
There are actually FIVE antennas in this iPad. Two antennas handle the cell reception — one is in the RF window on top, the other attaches to the LCD frame. A single GPS antenna is also housed in the RF window on top. Just like the iPad Wi-Fi, there are two antennas that handle Wi-Fi / Bluetooth connectivity, one in the Apple logo and another to the left of the dock connector.
Apple looks to be using the entire LCD frame as an antenna!
Apple uses the same 3G baseband processor in both the iPhone 3GS and the iPad 3G.
The baseband processor in question is the Infineon 337S3754 PMB 8878 X-Gold IC. It was actually white-labeled on the production unit, but with enough sleuthing we were able to confirm its true identity.
The iPad 3G has a Broadcom BCM4750UBG Single-Chip AGPS Solution, whereas the iPhone 3GS uses an Infineon Hammerhead II package. Big win for Broadcom!
Head on over if you want to see the whole, sordid strip-down…

The HD2 has won many titles for being the first to do things on WM like its Capacitive multi-touch display, thin body, 1Ghz processor(not really, LG eXpo), and the least notable a compass which as you know can be used for metal detection. These ability had been made available in this application, and in a recent update, it gets some pretty worth while changes.
v1.0 - detection algorithm improved (tilt compensation) - sensitivity slider (red) now working - continuous ticking after app exit solved - new app icon, thanks jaguaralani - now uses HW accelerated opengl (problem with silvermoon solved, thanks Phippu) v0.2 changed skin, added sound ticks and vibration v0.1 first public release (alpha)

If you have the Tour 9630, you may want to give this leaked OS a try: 5.0.0.643, as indicated by BlackBerry Leaks. The leaked file is HERE, hosted at Multiupload.com so I suggest you waste no time because these links have a tendency to be taken down shortly.
Alright, if you do not know how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS please start by reading this great step by step guide. Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device.
And never forget our usual warnings: do not download and install these updates if you don’t know what you’re doing. Incorrect procedure or just bad luck could render your BlackBerry inoperative or unstable.

Carbon skins are always very sleek, simple, and smooth, well this new Dena skin sticks to the guide line. The skin created by Dena comes specifically for the HD2 due to the giant HD2 logo on the bottom, and the bobble like tabs.
There is not much to say about this. It is simple a different look aka “A new Experience” for your HD2, and before you try it, read this:
This is the second version of my carbon theme. I made a restyling of the clock, the taskbar, softkeys and icons. The style I used it is a grey\silver outline and a carbon style interior. Even the background was changed by 2 “pillars” (which are also in carbon style) that extended vertically. In the zip you can find 3 separated cab (icons, clock, background) that you can install separately according to your preferences. I hope you like it …. hi guys!

We were able to dig up a few more specs on the LG Fathom that is rumored to be headed to Verizon in May.
The Windows Phone measures 4.53x2.2x.65 inches and weighs 5.36 ounces. It should have a 3.2" 480x800 resistive touch screen, 256mb RAM, 512mb ROM, microSD expansion card slot, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The Fathom is fitted with a side-sliding keyboard and 3.2 megapixel camera. There is no indication on processor or battery size.
Keep in mind that the image provided by phonearena.com is likely an early prototype and the finished product (complete with Verizon branding)may have a slightly different appearance.

While at Best Buy today I happened to notice they had the Rogers BlackBerry Pearl 3G on display with a "coming soon" note below it. As per normal while perusing devices in store, a representive approached me to ask if I needed any help so I asked about the BlackBerry Pearl 3G release dates knowing they were not solid at this point.
The rep informed me that Best Buy was taking pre orders at moment for the TELUS version with a $50 deposit. TELUS will be releasing in two colors, black and pink with the pricing set at $29.99 with new three year contract and $449.99 without contract. You can place your pre order at any one of your local Besy Buy locations.

Ahh, the BlackBerry Tour. We heard at WES that the Tour branding was no more, so it's great to see that new OS' are still being pushed out. Be it official or leaked, I'm sure Tour owners will enjoy it either way. As with all leaked OS, use caution when loading up. Be sure to back up your data folks. This one remains untested by us, so be sure to share your thoughts in the forums and comments if you install it.
*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). Follow the links below for more information and instructions. *

We’re sure by now you’ve all seen the video overview of the Motorola RAZR3, so instead of running with that we thought we’d do our part by sharing some previously unseen photos of the now defunct handset. There’s really nothing for us to say about the flip phone that packs a 5 megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G and Symbian UIQ, but it’s always neat to see what might have been, right? Hit the jump for some more pics!

You know how these Android 2.1 updates go -- you'll get it when you get it. But this Sprint screen leaked at XDA Developers points to the Samsung Moment getting Eclair today -- which is growing more and more unlikely as the hours tick by and is contradicted by another screen shot we've seen -- and the HTC Hero getting its upgrade next week, which would explain Best Buy getting ready for it.
It's also noted that both updates will not be over-the-air due to their size (80MB for the Moment and 117MB for the Hero), because Sprint isn't able to handle the hosting requirements (either Google or the manufacturers will have to get that done), and that more than 90 percent of Moments out there don't have software that can handle an OTA update. Boo, indeed.
Anyhoo, we'll see if the Moment update makes it out tonight -- we're not betting on it -- and hold out hope for more news next week. [XDA Developers] Thanks, Adam!
